Is there an Age limit in most film festivals?
Sorry if this has already been covered, but a quick search revealed no results. I'm 16 and I'm very interested in a future career in filmmaking, does anybody know if film festivals generally have an age limit? Typically you wouldn't expect a 16 year old to create something as decent as a veteran, but for us ambitious ones I'm hoping there's a younger age category.

Check for 'student' level entries. Quite often film festivals will have 'student' categories which can range from grade school (seriously) up through grad school. A few will also specifically list age limits.
Withoutabox is a great place to do a search for festivals. |

Because submitting films tp a festival may require that you enter into a contract with the festival producer, and since most states do not allow minors to enter into contracts, you might have to have a parent or legal guardian assist you. Some festivals may impose an 18 years old or over limit to avoid dealing with potential legal issues related to receiving submissions from minors.
