Free Teleprompter Software?
Anyone know of any free teleprompter software for Mac OSX?
I'm not looking for anything that does the flipping for a mirror, just something that will auto scroll text on a screen at my desired speed. I found one called Prompt! But it's free version has a text size limit. Any other suggestions? |

Proprompter is a good one for OSX. It's not free, but it's good. It'll set you back $125.

And ProPrompter again
Just set up the ProPrompter on my small Dell laptop and it's a dream. Using a wireless mouse with a scroll wheel and setting the whole thing just below and in front of the lens. I am using a second camera tripod and setting the laptop on a small platform that has a quick release camera adapter mounted to the underside of same. Platform (11" x 10") has a nonskid surface and the elevation crank makes it very fast to set exactly where I want it.
I'll be doing a shoot next week where I'll use a larger laptop that has NTSC out and place TV sets to camera right and left (looped) so that the talent can turn to each side and still keep his/her place with the copy. Of course a set/monitor can be can also be turned back toward the camera person if they are controlling the scroll. Again, very pleased Bob Howard |
