DV Import to PV-GS500 from iMovie
I'm trying to transfer an edited movie from iMovie back to my Panasonic PV-GS500 for recording to DV tape. I am unable to figure out how to get the camera to go into 'VTR mode' to record the feed from iMovie via firewire. The directions do not address this. I have checked the 'play DV project video through to DV camera' option in iMovie's prefs. The 'Share' option in iMovie says I need to get the camera into 'VTR mode.' No kidding. Is anyone familiar with this process using this camera model?
I'm runninng iMovie HD 6 using a firewire connection to the PV-GS550. The DV project in iMovie is in its orginal import format from the same camera (with edits, of course). |

I have not used that specific camcorder, but if you are confused as to the wording, VTR mode is the same as VCR mode as labeled on some cams, or simply 'playback' mode. Switch the cam to the the setting you use to playback the footage on the camera, and iMovie should recognize the status as long as your cam is correctly connectec via the dv port to the firewire connection.
