Panasonic PV-GS300 or PV-GS500?

I have been researching for the right camera to shoot my documentary this winter. I have narrowed it down to either the Panasonic PV-GS300 or PV-GS500. Now I have talked with professors at IADT and they said either 3CCD will do the trick. Also I want a camera that has decent Manual Focus features.

GS500. It has better video quality.
