compatibility issues?
I am experiencing poor playback issues on a DV tape my girlfriend brought back from school. She thinks they shoot on a PD-150 cam, but not exactly sure. I have a GL1 and when i playback the picture is shown 4-5 times squashed in the monitor here is a still i pulled off...
http://visualstudios.org/d-prob.jpg I don't see where the difference in cams should cause any kind of issue like this. I have had a few playback issues with this particular cam in the past couple months...but all my tapes are playing correctly...the tape has been in her car and the weather is kinda chilly outside...any chance the tape needs to "warm up" closer to room temp? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It was probably shot DVCAM, and your camera may only play back DV. DVCAM cameras will play back DV and DVCAM, and some DV cameras will also, but some will not.

naw...i think it is an issue with the GL1, like i said it has had some playback issues and ive had to run tape cleaner on it several times over the past couple months...i took my GF's tape up to best buy and popped it in a cheap $450 cam and it played fine. i bought it and im putting together some stuff rite now. im not keeping it anyways because we have already been planning on getting an XL1s(business) and a GL2(personal).
