AspectHD / Premiere 1.5.1 crashing issue
I just began using AspectHD to capture and import footage from our JVC HD-100's to Premiere Pro 1.5.1. I capture the footage from the camera since Premiere cannot correctly control our BR-HD50 (but that's another post). When I get the footage onto the timeline things perform and react well. However, once I start cutting footage about every 3-5 minutes I get a monumental crash. Normally, it is when I am just playing the timeline or adjusting an AspectHD transition; never while I am shuttling or dragging the timeline marker around (which is when perhaps you'd expect it would happen). Everything absolutely freezes and usually the audio starts looping over and over.
As a stab in the dark I thought perhaps I should see if I have the latest audio drivers for my Sound Blast Audgy 2. I didn't so I updated those and am about to restest it. I have been trading emails with Cineform and they have said my machine (a self-build) meets spec. in terms of horespower for HDV so I don't think that is the issue.h Has anyone else experienced this weirdness? This problem was resolved by updating the video drivers for my ATI Radeon 9550. Who knew?!
