HD component to HD-SDI converter
Hello,
I use a JVC JY-HD100e camcorder: it has an uncompressed HD analog component output, and I use an AJA Kona LH too. I need to import the HD component signal of the camcorder to the digital HD-SDI input of the AJA card (it has also the analog input, but I need a very long cable, so I can't use analog inputs). I saw the classic AJA HD10A converter, that costs about 800 dollars. Once, some months ago, I was looking for HD hardware and I found on a forum a thread where I read about very cheap converters (for about 50-100 dollars) that make useless the expensive converters. I don't remember that site; is there anyone that could give me some advices? Thank you. |

I'm not aware of any converters that are cheaper than the AJA.
Why can't you use the analog again? Long cable runs? I think if you're going to be that picky about how you're going to get from A to B, you're going to have to pony up.
