Make up/effects help at DVinfo.net

Hey guys, where do you think I can get some fake nails? What techniques can be used to make someones nails look really unkempt, dirty, chewed up and nasty...when they get manicures pretty much every few weeks or so?

the actors finger nails are pretty much perfect...fake nails solution?

can we just get regular nails put them on and make them up or are there places we can get these types of nails?

Depending on the size of the actor's fingers, you might get away with using Press on nails. Use a Dremel tool to rough up and gouge the edge. Then paint it up to look yellowish and blotchy, adding darker browns and black for dirt. How close up are you getting?
