script writing question
I've been tinkering with the idea of writing a script based on the life of several athlete legends.
My question is simple. Are these athletes considered public domain or do i have to get some kind of permission? Do i have to buy rights to write a story like that? thanks Raji |

I believe they are considered public figures
There are many unauthorized biographies about all sorts of public figures. Barry Bonds comes to mind first. Just be sure to get your facts right, r express them as "opinion.'

well i'm sure you could write a biography of anyone you want, providing you get the facts right, but i'd be writing this for a feature film. Like John Nash in A Beautiful Mind or Johnny Cash in Walk The Line. I know Cash was dead when they decided to produce Walk The Line, but John Nash is still alive. I don't know... just confused.
