Vegas Video 3.0 Can't See XL1s
I just recently bought the following equipment:
Canon XL1s camera Adaptec 1394 PCI card I'm connecting them to my Dell computer running Windows XP Pro. After installing my new 1394 card, Windows XP sees the 1394 adapter fine. When I connect my XL1s to the 1394 card, and place the XL1s in VCR mode, my view finder shows DV IN on the bottom right corner. However, when I use Vegas Video 3.0's Capture utility, it does not see my camera. Did I miss something? Is there somewhere in Windows XP I can check to see if the camera is being detected? Sorry for such a basic question...just getting started in all this. Thanks, Ron |

Oh yeah, in Vegas Video 3.0 I've changed the preferences for Video Device from (none) to OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV.
The details window in Vegas Video 3.0 says: This device supports recompression Hot pluggable device Device unavailable Thanks again for any help. Ron |

Never mind. My Adapted 1394 card has three ports. I tried a different one and now my XL1s is seen by VV3.
