Michael, you mention B&W filters (they seem to be part of Schneider-Kreuznach). I downloaded their catalogue, but there aren't any 4x4 filters. I found Lee 4x4 filters, but it seems they are too thin for my matte box and they are resin only, not optical glas.

Schneider Optics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Schneider-Kreuznach. Schneider Optics manufactures Schneider Motion Picture and Television Filters; ie, 4x4, 4x5.65. These are all made from water-white Schott german optical glass that tests well beyond the requirements for HD quality. These are not branded under the B+W name and therefore will not be found in this catalog. Please reference our website for these types of filters:
