internal hard drive to external
do u know if there are any companies out there that make adapters that convert internal hd's to external and are win xp and mac os compatible?

It depends on the type of drive in question.
In general you're looking for a 0Mb conversion kit from any of dozens of vendors such as Wiebetech, Granite Digital, FireWire Direct, and on, and on...
