What format are mega commercials delivered in?

I'm curious, what format are mega commercials delivered to broadcasters in? Things like Ford, ATT, etc... I know that with BetaCam going away we are left with DVCAM which I hate the compression. So what do the big boys use??

Thanks,
CL

Assuming SD is used, probably DigiBeta. You can tell from the name that it is digital. It uses 4:4:4 colorsampling and a low 2:1 compression rate. It apparently has even better colorsampling than BetaSP.

i've never seen/heard of Digibeta tape format being 4:4:4 but have read it as being 10bit 4:2:2 while all other SD formats are 8 bit.

Sorry if I gave inaccurate information. The source I used quoted BetaSP as 4:2:2 and Digibeta as 4:4:4. Regardless, I'm still pretty sure most high-end SD is Digibeta. Is this correct?

We get stuff in all the time (commercials, music videos, trailers) where I work and it if it is SD it is:

40% Beta
50% DigiBeta

The other 10% is DVD/HardDrive

Digital files are growing in popularity. HD is usually delivered on HDCam tape.

Hope that helps
