Capturing video from Cable Box via IEEE1394

Hello everyone. I noticed my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4200HD cable box allows the connection of digital TV's that use IEEE1394/Firewire (some Sony's use this connection type) and was wondering if anyone has tried capturing video directly from the Firewire port into their computer. My Mac sees the device and actually has it listed as an "Explorer 4200HD" device but I can't find a capture preset in FCP5 to capture video into my Mac- any clues anyone?
