SP and LP?
We are editing a production shot using an XL1s, recorded using the SP setting, naturally enough.
We have been offered some additional material which would be valuable as cutaways, but unfortunately this was shot on LP. Apart from the quality issues, which because of the nature of the shots, are not likely to present a problem, what other implications might there be in trying to mix SP and LP in this way? Al |

There won't be any hit on the quality, unless there is dropout (which would make the footage unusable). Both LP and SP are recorded in the same format (DV, 5:1 compression).
If you use an NLE to cut the footage together, you should be safe as soon as you get it into the computer. Make sure you use the same camera the footage was shot with to capture the footage to reduce the chance of dropout.
