Easiest way to convert PAL VHS
Hi all. I have a client who wants me to convert a PAL VHS tape. I never do this kind of thing, and wonder if there is some easier way to do this than to buy a PAL VCR.
Even if I did have a PAL VCR, I wouldn't know what to output it to, because my GL2 doesn't have a passthrough, so I assume it can't record PAL to the NTSC DVs. Maybe a capture card from a PAL VCR, but hey, that's why I'm asking. Easiest AND cheapest. Suggestions? Thanks as always, DJ |

I don't think there will be any way to convert a PAL VHS tape unless you have a PAL VHS VCR! Then you would need to deal with a variety of other issues to get a decent copy as well. I'd suggest sending it out to a company that has the equipment to do this stuff properly, it will be faster, cheaper and better quality (unless you want to set up for doing lots of conversions yourself).
Type "PAL NTSC VHS conversion" into Google and you'll get a lot of links. Or just look in your local yellow pages for video companies. |
