Re: Why Do DVD's Still Exist?
Gosh, I remember the talk years ago in the media of them being concerned at the move to HD, that the wrinkles and everything would show up. It might even be off-putting for the talent as the existence of makeup would now be visible. Yet I'm guessing it's easier to track motion and where the balls go when the resolution is higher. With 4K you could even see the perspiration becoming sweat in addition to the finer details of the motion of the swing.

Re: Why Do DVD's Still Exist?
The desire to collect physical artifacts is certainly one of the psychological reasons that contribute to physical formats like CDs, LPs, DVDs, and physical books circulating in the marketplace, but it is also undeniable that culture is becoming more dematerialized each year with a dramatic rise in digital consumption vs. the encounter with physical artifacts. The two trends are intertwined.

Re: Why Do DVD's Still Exist?
Some people like me prefer DVDs and blu rays because you can get the movies uncensored where as streaming services still censor certain parts of movies, example, the movie Splash having Daryl Hannah's butt shot removed, etc.

Re: Why Do DVD's Still Exist?
I watched the other day a video about an old CD game that was released when I was a kid.
