So it's a really good computer IMO.

The question I have is why is it so darn slow when I render things in Premier Pro. Our old computer was an AthlonXP3200, 2 gigs of ram and 2 SCSI drives. And really they seem to take the same amount of time to render.

For instance:
I took a 30 min frame and just scaled it down a little bit. It took just about 45 mins to render.

Anyone have any imputs?

Good computer indeed!

With a setup like that I would expect real time or better. Have you checked windows task manager to see if both processors are beying used 100% wile rendering?

Is you computer overclocked? Overclocking does not allways mean better performance.

What raid configuration are you using?

Are Premiere media and scratch disks other than the system drive?

Best regards.
