help with canon ENG lens at DVinfo.net

Hi guys (and gals),
I've had this Canon YJ19x9B4 lens for several years. It works great but, every once in a while I turn it on and the lens goes to fully zoomed out and the Iris goes to 5.6 and the zoom control won't work. I've gotten it to work before but can't remember what the problem is. I've switched between manual and servo several times. And there a bunch of buttons and switches. None of which I use because I use it on a DSLR and power it with a 12v battery pack and Hirose cable. Anyone here familiar with this lens who knows what I'm missing? I can use it on manual but I do love the smooth zoom I get with the servo and want to use it.
