Clinton Pryor. Walk for Justice.
If you have the facebook, here is a link to a small endeavour which is becoming somewhat legendary.
A man of "First Australian" origin as many in the US might define him, set off on foot from Perth in Western Australia to the National Capital, our seat of Federal Government in Canberra. It is no small casual trot but a transnational hike probably analagous to walking from Los Angeles CA to Buffalo NY, except he chose to trek in spring through mid-summer, via the Central Desert, not the more well known and safer Nullabor national highway route, thence to Canberra. There are few properly formed roads through the Central Desert and it is sparsely populated with long distances between outcamps and small communities. Folk thought he would fold before he made Kalgoorlie but he made it to Uluru and is now heading south from Alice Springs into South Australia. Here is the facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Clintonswalkforjustice/ He has a small support crew travelling with him in a small van. Going all that distance in hot conditions much in a low gear is something of a testament to the vehicle as well. If you feel okay to offer encouragement with likes and comments, this will be helpful. The funds they had put together for the journey are about extinct. If you feel comfortable with donating to keep the show on the road, this likely will be appreciated as well. |
