Amazon Drive with unlimited space?
Well,
I noticed Amazon has the following for 59.99 a year. Anyone tried this with video files? 'Unlimited Everything What Can You Do If you have more than photos that you need to keep safe and secure, the Unlimited Everything plan is perfect for you. Store an unlimited number of your family photos Keep videos of friends and family safe and secure Store an unlimited number of files and documents Uploading is easy, and access is just a click away from almost any device"

What is your upload bandwidth with your service provider?

Re: Amazon Drive with unlimited space?
Well I feel like a guy with his pants down, I'm not sure if I have a limit, good thing to ask though. I currently use drop box, but it's more than twice the price of what Amazon's price is. I'll have to look into Verizon's limits.

Re: Amazon Drive with unlimited space?
It's not so much about a bandwidth cap (which you may have), but also the upload speed. Typical projects for me are 200GB in size and at my current upload bandwidth, which is 20Mbps, it would take 10 hours per project of uploading time.

Re: Amazon Drive with unlimited space?
Well me and Verizon have had years of arguments of what they say my speed is and what I get in real time. I'm supposed to get 50/50 but that's only if the moon is in alignment with Pluto and I have unicorns flying about the studio. But good point. I'm just looking at 60 bucks for unlimited space? Not too shabby, but I'm wondering if there' some fine print somewhere such as file size etc.

Re: Amazon Drive with unlimited space?
When I was investigating it, the wording seemed to indicate that it would only work with allowed file types. So, for example, it might let you upload MP4 and MOV files, but not MTS or MXF files. I haven't specifically tried it, but it's possible that it limits you to media only for that plan, and approved media types at that.
There could also be individual file size limits. Didn't look into that, but it would be something to watch out for. |

Amazon UK version, not unsurprisingly, rather more expensive. Top wack, £320 per annum for a terabyte limit.
Not aimed at the professional or even keen amateur market I assume. Ron |

Re: Amazon Drive with unlimited space?
A friend of mine backed up pretty much all of his stuff to Amazon. If I recall, his upload took about a month of continuous uploading!
On Charter internet we get 5 Mbps upload speeds. |
