Re: Windows 10 free?
Is the "free" Win 10 offer a bit like the "free" SIM chips in the 2014 movie 'Kingsman: The Secret Service"?

Re: Windows 10 free?
Windows 10 'free' upgrades are only available to computers with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 via their update mechanisms.
Finally ... a reason to like Windows Vista. Andrew |

Re: Windows 10 free?
From what I understand will everyone that has used the automatic update from windows 7 or 8 to 10 be forced to downgrade to their previous OS. Only Microsoft cannot do that with users that did a clean install.
But hey, it's the first of April you know ;) |

Re: Windows 10 free?
I'm still emotionally recovering from Windows Vista...........so I look at Windows 10 for free with great trepidation.

Re: Windows 10 free?
Well, it was posted today on that site and I cannot find any other reports so far, something of this magnitude would have been all over the internet.

Re: Windows 10 free?
Yep, it's surely a hoax. A good one though.

Re: Windows 10 free?
To be perfectly honest I don't like the interface at all ..it seems to be designed for kindergarden users. I found it frustrating but it was on my wife's computer not my work machine and she quickly decided to revert right back to Win7 Pro !! Luckily the downgrade back to Win7 or 8 is quick and painless as long as you do it within 30 days of upgrading to Win10 ... I'm staying on Win 7 for now.. At least I can get to software I need quickly and easily without lots of little screens popping up asking me what I want to do!!

Re: Windows 10 free?
My edit pc is still on windows 7 and I plan to keep it that way because I see no reason to fix anything that isn't broken but my wife has windows 10 now for a while on her pc. It has been rocksolid so far and all her programs work. I have used her pc a few times and while it does take some time to get used to I find it better and more polished then windows 7.
