Compatibility Issue??
I need to know what I am doing wrong or if it may be some type of driver issue. I don't know if anyone is familiar with NFHS (PlayOn Sports) or not but I will give you the scenario on what we are trying to accomplish.
We are trying to do a 3-4 camera shoot of football. That is not a problem getting everything hooked up and the cameras to TriCaster 40. The sound hookup to the T40 works correctly also as the mixer is showing sound and you can hear it in the headphones etc. The problem goes when we hook up the HDMI out of the T40 and send the HDMI signal to the HD capture device USB 3.0 Video Capture Device - HDMI, DVI, VGA | Video Adapters | StarTech.com It picks up the video great but there is NO sound at all that comes from the T40 HDMI output. The reason we run it into the HD capture device is that the laptop that this goes into has the NFHS graphics already done and it is so very easy to use. NFHS also has a scorebug that keeps real time score and real time clock. You may ask why not just use the Live Text and make your own graphics to go with the T40. Well, first of all I don't know how to run Live Text yet and don't have the time to learn at this point, much less teach some students to run Live Text. I have done 3 camera shoots with the T40 before and streamed it live like we are trying to do but those don't require a scorebug or really any graphics so it is no problem. I just need someone to help me out and let me know if there is any way it is going to be possible or if there just isn't an audio out signal. I did try the component out of the T40 and in to the StarTech HD capture device but that wouldn't even pick up a video signal let alone the audio signal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Compatibility Issue??
Do you have a different HDMI device you can hook up to see if the sound is being transmitted over HDMI?
I know with my Ninja you have to explicitly set it to take the sound from the HDMI input - is there a similar set up step needed for the Star Tech? Might be a set up issue somewhere in the signal path. Sorry I can't help more. |

Re: Compatibility Issue??
I have found out from NewTek that once the TriCaster 40 goes into the record mode it shuts down the audio on the HDMI out and only is video. I will have to use the component out of the TriCaster and hook that up to a component + audio to HDMI output converter to make it work.
