What was your favorite creative project, and how did the ideas come to you?

How did you get inspired?
What was your process? :How did you come up with the story? Did you get it through brainstorming? Did it just come to you? Did you dream it? See something that inspired it?
Was it inspired by music? Did you draw it out? Did you visualize it all in your head first? Did it happen by accident? Was it an evolution of an earlier project?

When you really want to get inspired and get creative, what do you do?

I'm looking for new ways to get ideas, get inspired, and bring a project from idea to completion.

Lots of interest in views, but no answers!
Don't be so shy - we all have a creative process. What's yours?

Lately I've been logging ideas in a journal, and then trying to storyboard them out - but there is still a block when it comes to bringing them to completion.
Ideas seem to come to me first as moods or impressions, and sometimes as mental visual storyboards.
Sometimes I have listened to music and tried to form visual impressions from it.
I'm wanting to paint more, to help get the visual wheels moving and hopefully bring in some ideas.
Sometimes I will picture animations, but don't always have the skills to bring them into being. So the general idea sits there and stays undeveloped.
Kind of like the book of unfinished songs.

OK, your turn.....
