Question - Sony HX300 Camera - Video File
My cousin recorded several videos on his Sony DSCHX300 and gave me a copy of the videos on an SD card. Now I wanted to upload some videos on my FB/Youtube but I noticed it saved as one huge AVCHD Content File. When I click on this file to open, a list of 30 clips opens up in a window. How do I select say if I want to upload one specific clip from this file? I am so lost. The AVCHD file is 10 GB and the Clip I want to upload is only a few minutes long. Help?

Re: Question - Sony HX300 Camera - Video File
Not sure what you mean exactly, but you might try downloading Sony's "Play Memories Home" (lame name, but decent software to work with media files) from the Sony web site. Not sure why you apparently have 30 clips, but are only getting a list... are you looking in the right folder? The folder/file structure with AVCHD is a little tricky native in the camera, and if you just got an image of the memory card, the above software might help sort it all out.

Re: Question - Sony HX300 Camera - Video File
I downloaded that software you recommended, but I am lost on how to exact my video file.
Well its not exactly a list of videos, but a window opens that saids "Open Clip" and 25 clips are found on this AVCHD File. It is 25 clips because that is the number of times the Record button was pressed. Record, Stop, Record. I do not have the camera with me. Does this make sense? Can I post thumbnail pictures on here? |

Re: Question - Sony HX300 Camera - Video File
Never seen the camera create "one large AVCHD content file". Clips are usually created in sequence, individually.
Did your cousin somehow archive/zip the files as a single group? Or copy the wrong file from the SD card? |
