Remote Interview

I am looking to create a remote interview setup much like what newscasters have with their off-site correspondents.
The interaction needs to be live, but the broadcast is not, so I don't have to worry about real-time compositing and keying.

I have a lot of equipment and control on my end, but am limited to a laptop camera on the other. One thought is to Skype through an iPad that is hooked up to a mirror-based teleprompter so the anchor can interact directly with the correspondent and maintain eyeline, but that leaves the question of how the correspondent's video is to be recorded.

Has anyone else produced this kind of content without a professional cameraperson on the correspondent end? How did you do it?
