First time press-kit woes!
I am entering my film into multiple short festivals, but I'm worried about my press-kit. When I look at samples, they have tons of info that wouldn't even apply to me (I did everything except the acting) and I'm not sure what to put -- I'm afraid to omit whole sections and only have a three-page kit. Please advise!
I have good production stills, a punchy synopsis, and FAQ. I have no reviews and third party endorsements. This is my first film, so my bio only includes other art and music I've done. Cast and crew bios are even smaller. I see conflicting things when comparing sample press kits, I'm lost. Some samples include tech specs, like: Technical Information TITLE: .... YEAR OF PRODUCTION 2013 DURATION 14:32 COUNTRY OF PRODUCTION USA GENRE DRAMA PRODUCTION FORMAT 35MM/HD SCREENING FORMAT HDCAM 23.98fps RATIO 1.78:1 LANGUAGE ENGLISH/SPANISH Publicity John Doe President/CEO John Doe & Associates 600 W. 9th Street, NW Washington, DC 90015 Office 213 644 7027 Cell 513 395 1534 yeah@yeah-associates.com US Sales Contact Joe Schmoe Sample Company New York, 10113 Phone: 917 625 1555 joe@schmoe industries.com 'FILM TITLE' 2 BLABLABLA PRODUCTIONS Presents 'FILM TITLE' WRITTEN & DIRECTED BY JOE SCHMOE PRODUCED BY JOE SCHMOE CINEMATOGRAPHY BY JOE SCHMOE EDITED BY JOE SCHMOE SOUND & MUSIC BY JOE SCHMOE ________________________________________________________________________ Not sure where to go from here. Please advise! Thanks! Casey D. |
