New Edit machine blues
I just picked up a new machine for editing sonce my old wa 5 years old and slowly going away. I HATE this. Everything on the old machine has to be transfered to the new one and I need to find the EXEs and the serial numbers. Not looking for sympathy just letting off steam. This could take a while!

And that's not going to be the end of your frustration. You are probably upgrading from XP to Win7 or Win8... be prepared to find some of your software no longer working or not working properly on the new OS.

Tell us about your new box, Don! That should brighten things up a bit...

Re: New Edit machine blues
Ervin, yeah I know that will probably happen that's why I'm not really doing much with it for another couple of weeks. I've still got some work to do this month and want to have everything done before I tackle this project.
Chris, it's a basic HP-Compaq box with an i7-2600, 8 gig of RAM a 1 gig system drive and lots of space for drives, cards (although it does have a graphics card in it (I'd have to look to see what it is-a Radeon 7450 perhaps), It was on sale and I could pass it up. A couple of folks I know use this configuration and it worls fine for them so I'm hoping it does the same for me. Like I said nothing fancy...yet!
