B4 to 1/2" adaptor at DVinfo.net

I'm about to do a project that needs considerable work at the long end of the lens. I still have two JVC DV cameras (5000/500 series)that have low hours and produce good pictures and will match well. I also have some older less reliable Betacams with nice lenses with 2X extenders. I was wondering about getting a couple of lens adaptors and using these bigger lenses on the JVCs - I'll benefit from the magnification factor and the extenders. Can anyone see any negatives in doing this? - apart from the cost, of course?
