High speed fibre editing/storage solutions?

Sorry if this fits in somewhere else, but I couldn't find it.

I am starting to get to the point where I need a remote server to use and work with my files in premiere and AE due to space issues on the current machine (120GB SSD for boot, 1TB 7200rpm sata for storage, its not enough) and I just got a relatively good offer on an older EonStor with 16 250GB drives in it (~4TB, so 3.5 with overhead). And by good deal, I mean under $400.

Older version of this: ES F16F-S4840

Who here has used some fiber channel external RAID arrays for working with footage? Where/what brand should I be looking for? Server rack/blade mounted would be ideal since I am not taking this on the road and it is going to be firmly planted at work. Please note, this is not working with 4K Red files, but mainly with DSLR and XDCAM so it must not be super high performance, but I am in the position where I constantly have to reference older videos in real time and potentially edit off a SAN due to turnaround times.

Guide me wise ones!
