How to travel with camera(s) secured...
Tom Gresham had an interesting idea regarding TSA/Airport rules of checking guns onto the airline and how to make those rules work FOR you rather than against you. http://traffic.libsyn.com/guntalk/120212guntalkC.mp3
Tom often travels with expensive camera gear and worries about the Pelican type camera cases being broken into by the baggage thieves. His solution... check a gun with your camera, in your camera case... even if it is only an airsoft or toy gun! (all firearms including "simulated" firearms must be checked luggage) TSA and Fed policy to check guns as checked luggage MANDATE that you can NOT use a TSA padlock on luggage that contains a gun. But, the case MUST be locked and only YOU may have a key or the ability to open the lock. So, you get to use a high quality hardened lock on your camera case, you're assured that TSA or Airport Dork won't be opening your case and messing with your camera's, and if they want to open it, they have to get YOU to do it. Sounds like a good idea to me. |

That could work!
I wouldn't try it internationally though...
