Open communications
I need some help on finding some low cost way to talk between the cameras and the switcher. I know they make some unterminated communications equipment. What is the best way to go? I will have to be talking quietly since it would be for wedding and church video.
Thank you in advance! Last edited by Ryan Richardson; September 2nd, 2005 at 10:26 AM. Reason: Misspelled |

The low cost way would be to get walkie talkies. On the camera side, use headphones.
You can get VOX headsets, which block out close to no sound and are unsuitable for noisy events. But, the camerapersons do get to talk back. Or use full-sized headphones that do block out sound in a meaningful way. 2- There's also various intercom systems, wired and wireless. From Vistek in Toronto (which is kind of overpriced), renting intercoms (wired) for 4 people is $200CDN/day. Comtek makes wireless intercoms, they work well. Don't know what the rental is for them. |
