QT Screen recording
Hello everyone!
I need some help! I just finished a QT Screen recording. First when I tried to import it to FC7 It wouldn't let me so, I had to converted it in mpeg streamclip. I converted to 422LT. I sent it to FCP and added the audio then exported to my desktop as H264. Now the quality is horrible. Does anyone know what the heck Im doing wrong? Darrell |

Re: QT Screen recording
The first concern is to figure out what step of the process led to the bad quality.
Presumably you saw something acceptable in FCP? That would indicate that your render to h.264 is suspect. An important principle for high-quality screen recording is to record, edit, and distribute in the same resolution. I've never tried to edit a screen recording in FCP - but if you saw something acceptable there you should be able to render out a clip of similar quality. That means enough resolution and bitrate sufficient for that resolution... which can vary a lot depending on content. Many screen caps are distributed as low as 4fps to help quality at lower bitrates, 8, 12 and 15fps are also common.
