Digibeta to computer for NLE
I was wondering if it's possible to transfer digibeta from a camera like the Sony DVW-790WSP to a computer (for NLE in FCP) using a suitable VTR? Or would I have to get this done through a facilities house? If it is possible to do a DIY job this would be excellent - as long as it's not too expensive equipment wise! There are some great cameras for sale right now!
Cheers Simon

Re: Digibeta to computer for NLE
Hi Simon I have also seen that you can get a digibeta camera for less than £2,000 these days, to digitise it to an NLE you would need a decent interface card such as the BlackMagic or AJA Kona, it would be best to go in via SDI but for the additional cost of a card or a machine to digitise it may be more cost effective and future proof just going HD.
Also you need to consider the cost of maintenance on older pro kit as it may seem cheap now but if it breaks it may cost more than you paid for it to repair.
