Thoughts and prayers to Japan
The video shows the tragedy unfolding in Japan. 8.9 is a giant earthquake. My thoughts and prayers to our Japanese brethren.
Now I selfishly begin to wonder about production of camcorders and DSLR's. After looking, the ( Canon ) Oita prefecture is at the opposite end of the country, The Oita plant is canon's main plant, although I am still attempting to learn their geographical locations for camcorder production. Still looking at Sony, at first glance sony may have been hurt. I am still searching but sony may have plants in Tokyo and Fukushima with admin in Ginza.. Re: Thoughts and prayers to Japan
Same here, my prayers goes out to the people of Japan. With the tragedy, I can't help but be amaze by the preparedness of the Japanese people, 25 people dead, I guess the earthquake drills they regularly do averted a major disaster ( casualty wise).

Re: Thoughts and prayers to Japan
A lot more than 25 dead. At least 300 - so far. A commuter train missing, a boat with 80 workers swept away, no word on their fate.

I spoke to soon just heard they found 300 bodies. But still I don't see casualties like the Indonesia tsunami, I hope not

Re: Thoughts and prayers to Japan
Japan is used to quakes, they have extremely serious building codes.
I add my own prayers for those affected. Two years ago I had a nephew teaching English in Tokio... thanks God he's out of there. |
