Disable Sony TRV70 timeout
I have a great TRV70 sitting around and would like to use it as a web cam. It works great either streaming USB or firewire for about 5 minutes and then times out and goes to sleep. It will work fine if recording to tape but I do not want to burn up my heads. Does anyone know how to disable the timeout or sleep mode on the TRV70?
Thanks Kirk |

Search the menus for A. SHUT OFF. You may be able to switch that off. Also, make sure there is no tape in the deck -- many times the Auto Shut Off is only enabled when there's a tape inside.
Edit: Ah! Found it! While there's no setting for this, p. 26 of the manual states that "your camera does not turn off automatically while the cassette is not inserted."
