...if somebody could point me to the "Entry Level Editing Software Department" I'd be hugely appreciative.

I'm absolutely wishy washy about this 64 bit OS "Cyberlink PowerDirector 9 Ultra 64". Spreads all the load across 6 cores? Uses all the memory? Could this be? or another pipe dream. A computers ability to handle video has been my only reservation to entering the world of video editing.
