Looking for free ping pong motion capture software?
I was wondering if there is a free motion capture (ala ping pong balls) that can be used with a webcam or hd cam...
Thanks |

I've never come across a free one - not to say it doesn't exist, but I haven't found it.
Close to free - maybe. Syntheyes at around $400 can do reasonable motion capture. I think you would need 2 to 4 cameras running at once and there are some camera calibration issues. Also - if the cameras use CMOS sensors (almost all recent cams under $20k - $30k except for the new JVC units) instead of CCD there can be other issues that will lead to less than great results. I don't know of anything less expensive than Syntheyes - might exist, I just haven't heard about it. |
