File Number Madness with my Canon HF200
I have a horrible work flow problem with my Canon HF200. Every time I pop in a new SD card it starts to renumber the files from zero..
So lets say i do a shoot with 4 different SD cards.. When I copy them to the folder on the puter they all have the same file numbers... This is driving me crazy... Example... SDCARD1 0000.mts 00001.mts......etc SDCARD2 0000.mts 00001.mts..... See the problem... When I try to bring these into Vegas its a real mess SUGGESTIONS? Sidenote: I posted this is the HF200 forum, but got no response: "Is there a way to set the file numbers on my HF200? Everytime i change SD cards it starts over with the ame file number. Just did a project with 4 different cards and they all have the same file numbers...ie 0000.mts" Thanks...

The only thing I know of is to use the Canon Pixela software for importing files.I use it on my S200. It assigns file naming in date and time format that's in the clip data. If I shot a clip righ now it would be:
20100907114400.mts |

Just a thought (as a HF10 owner), upon copying the new files (from say, card #2) which have the same names as those from the card #1, Windows Vista and up, gives you the option to copy and keep both files and so 0000.mts from #2 card becomes 0000(1).mts which I find reasonable enough, in my opinion.
Depends how comfortable you are with this; I for one, am!
