Macbook Pro Help

Hi There, there is probably another discussion about this but i cant find it

i have a sony z1, and of course it is 1394 firewire

but the new Macbook Pros don't have the firewire port for it, but the old Macbook Pro design does,

can you still get adapters for the new to convert firewire 400 to 800 is it?

plus i prefer the newer ones, is it a better performance for HD video of course i would need a 7200 rpm drive, plus i am upgrading to EX3 in a couple of months are the card slot on the new ones are very convenient

Thanks Ollie :)

I have a MacBook Pro 13" and the 5400 rpm drives work fine for HDV, XDCAM EX and ProRes 422 (not HQ). You'll be glad for the firewire 800 port if you ever want to connect an external drive to it.
