Soderbergh and no lens hood!

I was at some other website and it had some pics of Soderbergh shooting Full Frontal. All the pics with him and the XL1s show no lens hood on the camera. Any ideas why?

Yes. Tim Smith at Canon, who was tech. adviser on that shoot, told me that Soderbergh was constantly attaching the Century Optics wide-angle adapter as needed. It wouldn't have made much sense to put the lens hood back on the 16x every time. By leaving it off, he could throw on the adapter in a matter of seconds. Hope this helps,

By the way, the current issue of DV Magazine has a cover photo of Soderbergh with the XL1S and the wide-angle adapter I was telling you about.
