Possible to Remove Lens/Zoom from Camera?
I've been looking far and wide for a camera to suit my needs, but I cannot find one. I am looking for a small camera (that you might be able to hide in a hat or mount on the side of your head) that would have zoom.
I searched the Internet over and over again to find what I was looking for, and when I couldn't, I called B&H. They could only point me to cameras that have little or no zoom. So, I thought the only way I could achieve what I wanted to was to remove the lens/zoom portion of a camcorder and just use that. This, no doubt, is no small feat. I wanted to see if anyone else has done this (or thought of doing this) and if anyone thinks it's possible. Or if anyone knows of a camera that is small which has something like 20x zoom. Thanks. |

Such things do not exist (to the best of my knowledge). You will need
massive engineering skills to pull this off as well, so if you don't know what you are doing I would not attempt this.
