VASST's Sony HDV Solutions Tour

I went to the Orlando leg of the tour, for just the free Sony HDV seminar, and highly recommend you check it out if they come to your neighborhood. They have the cities listed on the page at the link down below.

First I got to meet Douglas Spotted Eagle in person for the first time. He's every bit as smart as you think he is, and then some. You can't stump the guy!

Second, they had one of RedRockMicro's Micro35 35mm lens adapter rigs hooked up to one of the Sony HDV cams - it was great to finally see it in person. And not only that, they're actually going to give one away after the tour is over in a drawing of names from the attendees in the various legs of the tour!

Third, got to see some of VASST's latest software and plugins, which were very exciting. Including an update to Ultimate-S which looked really sharp.

Fourth, I got to see some non-Vegas users ooh and aah over Vegas and its fast handling of HD, a brand new dual processor AMD that was just ridiculously powerful, and a couple of the new features of Vegas 6.

Oh, and how could I forget - I got to see some really impressive footage off the Sony HDV cams.

All in all, it was a great evening. Enjoyable, interesting, and it will definitely nurture your inner nerd.

Thanks Spot, for a fun evening!

Hello,

What Imran said and more.. Spot rocked the house with his one man HDV show that was entertaining, fun and educational.. Loved it..
He also showed an HDV Connect box from Convergent Design, which is a conversion box which will allow you to derive various signals from your HDV source to your studio.. Web link here:

Also Victor Milt, gave his thought on the 35mm adapter..
I picked up Victors DVD on Lighting, and have seen part of it so far, and it is killer..

The Vasst Demo was super..
