Canon L2 Camcorder Specifications
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows the specifications for the old Canon L-2? Does anyone know what the CCD size is, how many it has, what features it has. I'm just curious, I can't find the information anywhere, tried doing several searches online--didn't come up with much.

The L2 was a Hi-8 format camcorder that had a single 1/2" CCD and a VL-mount removeable lens. There used to be a site called "VL Land" but it was wiped out in a simultaneous server crash and local hard drive failure. There's not much else that you need to know except that a lot of folks cut their teeth on it and the earlier L1, including me. All of these old Hi-8 camcorders are prone to leaky capicitors now so I really can't recommend that you spend any money on one. If you have one and it works great, enjoy it while it lasts. If you're thinking about buying one, well, it's Hi-8 and sooner or later it'll quit working, so why bother.
