How do I identify Taiyo Yuden DVD's
I ordered a spindle of Taiyo Yuden inkjet printable DVD's from a company called: thetechgeek.com. I received them a couple of weeks ago. I just opened the shipping container a few minutes ago and discovered that the spindle wasn't sealed and other than a "serial number" on each DVD there is nothing that identifies these DVD's as being made by Taiyo Yuden. Is this normal or did I get ripped off?

There is software that will read the manufacturer code that is embeded in the disk. If you go to this site
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmediafor...info=1#dvdinfo you can read more about it and download software that will read the code. It is not unusual to get unmarked disks like you did when you buy in bulk, so you may be just fine. However, I am seeing more posts about counterfeit disks that have the correct manufacturer code embeded so it is getting harder to tell who really made the disks. Have a look around the entire site that I listed, it is full of great info about DVDs, including quality, compatibility, etc. |
