Question about shooting short on dv, what about audio?
Short film to be shot on mini dv, what kind of audio can you suggest that I do if I cant send the mics directly into my camera?

Just curious, why would you not be able to send audio to your camera? I strongly suggest keeping video and audio together on tape as much as possible.
You could always record on a portable DAT deck or a Sony Mini-Disc recorder, but then you have the chore later on in post of syncing this audio to video. And that's always a hassle. |

If your camera doesn't have XLR inputs , there are some aftermarket products to help. I think one brand is "Beachtek"? May be cheaper in the long run to buy this, rather than purchase/hire DAT equipment and spend extra time in post trying to sync up. Not to mention the exhorbatant rates clapper/loader's charge, Ha! Ha!
