Effects
Have you ever played music on the Windows Media Player? When the music plays, the program makes funky designs (visualizations) that change to the music. Does anyone know of a program that will make backgrounds like that for video?

Wondertouch ParticleIllusion has a number of fully customizable effects like that.

Nick: Thanks, that site is great. But, it not exactly what I'm looking for. I need something more design based, not object oriented. What I mean is more like a kaliedescope (excuse my spelling).

Lee, this ties in to your question about Apple Motion. That software would be well suited to this kind of thing, although it is best used on fairly short clips.

apple also have a program called Meta Synth ;) oldy but a goody :)
