Ntsc, Pal,....?
Alright, here is another in Im sure a long line of questions.
Can someone please explain or point me to where I can learn what these are and the differences? From what I have gathered you have to choose between the 2 when puchasing a camera and NTSC seems to be better for web and dvd use and PAL for film transfer. Thanks for all your help. Ryan |

These are standards for video. They deal with resolution, frames per second and other more technical specifications. Countrys adopt standards as to the method of broadcast within their borders. The United States uses NTSC (National Television Standards Committee). Other nations use other standards such as PAL (many diferent types of PAL, but interchangable) and SECAM (Sequential Color Method). SECAM is used for broadcast only (very little if any production). If you use the search button in the upper right, you'll find an abundance of information on NTSC and PAL. There are many international memebers of our community and PAL is their production standard.
