Bogen/Manfrotto Rebate confusion
Just wanted to share my experience. I purchased a 701hdv head alone in early June from B&H and it had a rebate form listed on a site which was quite confusing. When I called B&H the rep told me that a Head alone qualifies for a $25 rebate, just to make sure I also called Adorama and J & R whose sites also had rebate listed on their site and they all confirmed the same thing which helped me make my desicion to purchase it from B&H. To make the story short, Bogen rejected the rebate basing it on the fact that I purchased a head without a tripod and they don't seem to care about what B&H and other stores told me prior to purchase. Anybody else had similar experience with Bogen rebate?
Looking forward to hear from fellow videographers, Bogen manager said that they never heard of such confusion and it really makes me feel dumb. :( Cheers. |

I hope you have a copy of the rebate form. You did make a copy right? Always make copies of your completed rebate form before sending it off.
That form should contain all the limitations and exclusions that apply to the rebate. Documentation is what you need, to show the Bogen folks that your rebate should apply in this case. It's hard to know if the different retailers told you what you wanted to hear in order to make a sale, or if the language from Bogen's rebate was confusing enough to make them all interpret it the wrong way. -gb- |
