Film/Video schools in New York? help
Hey Dvinfo,
I was interested in going back to school for television production. I'm based out of new York city. It seems like the only options are NYU & NY film school which are too expensive. Are there any schools that teach television production in evening and located in the greater new york area. i thank you for your help in this matter. |

1- The book "Film School Confidential" might be helpful.
http://www.google.ca/search?q=cache:...idential&hl=en It has some advice about going to film school as well as reviews of film schools (in the non-online book version). 2- An alternate route is to start interning/volunteering. TV stations, film shoots, intern at production companies, etc. Make friends with people at work there so they'll teach you stuff. This is a cheaper way to gain experience and you'll have your foot in the door for jobs at the place you intern. One owner of a editing shop I talked to in Toronto said that he looks for people with degrees when hiring interns. Part of this is because he gets a lot of resumes. |
